THE DOORS OF HEAVEN OPENED...
Open Heaven Worship Center, led by Pastor Elijah Boone and his wife, Terrie Boone, had its genesis in 2018 within the MTA workplace, where Pastor Elijah Boone serves. During this period, we fervently gathered three days a week for prayer and Bible study, fostering a strong spiritual community.
The year 2020 brought unforeseen challenges with the onset of the pandemic. Instead of faltering, we adapted by utilizing the power of social media to share our gospel and our mission to be a guiding light to the world.
In 2021, our doors reopened, and we reaffirmed our commitment to serving the community both spiritually and practically. We not only prioritize community support but also focus on youth development, aid for families affected by incarceration, especially those grappling with mental health issues, and offer premarital and marriage counseling. Open Heaven Worship Center stands as a beacon of hope and a force for positive change in the lives of those we are privileged to serve.

PASTOR ELIJIAH BOONE
THE MAN SETTING FIRES

Pastor Elijah W. Boone's journey began in Mount Vernon, New York, born to Elijah Boone Senior and Mozzella Williams at Mount Vernon Hospital. From a young age, his grandmother's influence cultivated his deep love for the church, igniting a passion that would lead him to become a devoted preacher.
In 1985, at Pentecostal House of Prayer of Deliverance (PHPD), under the leadership of Pastor McKinley Green, Pastor Boone had a life-altering experience. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, setting him on a path of spiritual growth. Over the years, he progressed through various roles, starting as a deacon, then minister, and finally an elder. His commitment to understanding the Word of God led him to attend Bible School at Rehoboth Bible Institute, where he delved into subjects like Christology, Soteriology, and Theology.
As he deepened his knowledge of theology, Pastor Boone actively served alongside respected leaders, including assisting Pastor to Bishop McKinley Green and later Bishop Robert Capers. In 2018, he answered a divine call to establish Open Heaven Worship Center, where he serves as the founder and senior pastor. In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Boone has completed his chaplaincy training and serves as a Christian counselor. Pastor Boone's life is a testament to his unyielding dedication to spreading the message of faith and compassion within the community.
PASTOR TERRIE BOONE
THE WOMAN WITH A VISION FOR THE YOUTH
Co-Pastor Terrie Boone's journey began in Queens, New York, where she was born to Lewis Duncan and Mabel Hughes Duncan. Her early years were steeped in the teachings of Bethany Baptist Church, where she imbibed the belief that Jesus is the ultimate answer to life's questions.
As an adult, Terrie rekindled her spiritual connection at PHPD, and her devotion to the Lord blossomed. Her journey led her to become a missionary, and she enrolled at PHPD Bible Institute, where she delved into subjects like general Bible 1+2, theology of God, Christology, Soteriology, and more. After years of dedicated service, she earned the esteemed title of elder, firmly upholding the value of holiness.
In 2016, Co-Pastor Boone began working alongside Bishop Robert Capers, where she passionately preached and served as the superintendent of the Sunday school department. She also held the position of president of the First Lady's committee, exemplifying her commitment to church leadership.
In 2021, the divine call beckoned once again, and Terrie Boone accepted the role of Co-Pastor at Open Heaven Worship Center, serving alongside her husband Pastor Elijah Boone. She is not only a devoted leader but also a loving mother, nurturing six living children and cherishing the memory of one deceased child. Her belief in guiding children in the path of righteousness is a testament to her compassionate and unwavering spirit. Additionally, she serves as a Christian counselor, extending her love and support to those in need of spiritual guidance.

Youth Leader Nehemiah Boone is a formidable entrepreneur, speaker, and investor with an evangelistic spirit for sharing kingdom principles. You can find Nehemiah playing the drums at OHWC or leading the youth every fourth Sunday at 3pm. When Nehemiah is not uplifting his community, you can find him speaking/mentoring with passion and vulnerability as he equips the youth with how to level up in every aspect of their life.
